It’s a three-year undergraduate program offered through an open and distance learning mode. The BA Home Science programme will start its first session in July 2025.

Dr Dharam Pal expressed his views, saying: Students who have passed their intermediate exams are eligible to apply for this course. The course is designed not only for academic learning but also to guide students in building their careers in various professional fields. The course offers a combination of theoretical and practical training, and the medium of study is available in both Hindi and English.

The Bechlors of Arts in Home Science programme is designed in alignment with the University Grants Commission (UGC) curriculum and credit framework, and it is also based on the guidelines of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

About IGNOU BA Home Science Programme

The official name of the course is BAFHSC – Bachelor of Arts (Home Science), offered under the three-year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) with a full degree attainable in three years. 

It’s delivered through IGNOU’s Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode, allowing students to study flexibly through online resources, printed materials, and local study centres. The programme is managed by the School of Continuing Education (SOCE) at IGNOU, which specialises in vocational and community-focused degree offerings.
